CLASSROOM GUIDELINES FOR
MRS. REYNOLDS’ SCIENCE CLASS

Microscope

  1. CLASSROOM CONDUCT
    1. TARDIES: You are expected to be on time for class. If you are not in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings,

you will be marked "Tardy Unexcused" & a detention will be issued. On the 5th tardy, a referral will be written.

    2. ABSENCES: If you are absent excused, you have two days (not counting the day of your return) in which to make

up the work. If the absence is unexcused, you will get a zero for that day’s assignment.

    3. DISMISSAL: When the dismissal bell rings, please remain seated until the teacher dismisses you. Chairs must

be returned to their proper positions at the end of each class. Last period students will place their chairs on top of the tables to

      facilitate the custodians.

    4. FOOD & PHONES: Food, drinks, candy, gum, playing cards, mp3 players, iPods & electronic

games are NOT allowed in class. Food & drinks will be thrown away while electronic items will be

confiscated & sent to the administrative office. Cellular phones should be turned off & out of sight in your

      backpacks during class.

    5. RESTROOM: Restroom & locker visits must be made during the class change intervals. Each student

will be allowed two restroom passes per term. If they are not used, they may be handed in at the end of the term for extra

      credit.

    6. LAB EQUIPMENT: Please do not touch any equipment unless the teacher instructs you to do so. Lab safety will

be discussed & you will be required to sign a Lab Safety Contract, which will be kept on file.

    7. MATERIALS: You will be expected to come to class prepared by having the necessary materials such as pens,

notebook paper, textbooks, calculators, rulers & colored pencils. Pencils should be sharpened before class begins.

    8. WASTE PAPER DISPOSAL: Waste paper must be placed in the bins at the end of class when you leave the

room. Please do not throw paper across the room.

    9. GROOMING: Personal grooming (combing one’s hair, applying make-up & spraying cologne) is not allowed in

class. This should be done in the restrooms.

    10. RESPECT & COURTESY: Please raise your hand if you wish to speak. Don’t shout or try to speak when another

person is talking. Treat fellow students & your teacher with respect & you will receive respect in return. Practice saying

"Please" & "Thank you" and after a while, it will become commonplace.

    11. CHEATING: Anyone caught cheating or enabling someone to cheat will receive a zero for that assignment. In

addition, your parents will be notified & you will be ineligible for the National Honor Society. If it happens again, a referral

      will be written.

may not be announced in advance.

    8. EXTRA CREDIT: There will be no individual extra credit in this class. If you do not use all
